The candidate should not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 35 years of age at the time of application, in which age relaxation will be available as per the category as mentioned below.

Forester Salary : GSSSB Forester Recruitment 2026

The selected candidates will be eligible to get a fixed salary of Rs. 26,000/- per month for the first five years as per the prevailing rules of the Government of Gujarat. After five years of satisfactory service, regular appointment will be given in the pay scale of 25,500 – 81,100 as per Level 4 of the Seventh Pay Commission.

Forester Qualification : GSSSB Forester Recruitment 2026

Educational Qualifications :

• The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from any government recognized university.
• The candidate should have general knowledge of computer usage.
• The candidate should be proficient in Gujarati or Hindi or both languages.
• A candidate who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry will be eligible to get 10% more marks in the total marks obtained in the written examination.
• Candidates who have NCC certificate will be given two additional guns.

Physical qualifications :

• The following physical criteria will be considered acceptable for Male Candidates.

• It is mandatory for all male candidates to have a chest expansion of at least 5 cm.

Forester Exam Pattern : GSSSB Forester Recruitment 2026

The forester exam conducted by GSSSB will be held in two consecutive phases.

Written test (MCQ based)

• The first written exam will have a MCQ type question paper of 100 questions worth 200 marks.
  • 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong question.
  • A total of 3 hours will be given for this written exam.
  • In this first written examination, it will be mandatory for the candidate to obtain a minimum of 40 taka marks i.e. at least 80 marks to pass.
  • There will be a desired weightage for the main subjects for the written examination.

Physical Fitness Test

• Only those candidates who qualify after the written examination will be called for the physical fitness test.

• Candidates who pass both the above tests will be called for a walking test, in which male candidates will have to walk 25 kilometers in 4 hours and female candidates will have to walk 14 kilometers in 4 hours.

Forester Application Fee : GSSSB Forester Recruitment 2026

All the candidates applying for the recruitment of Forest Guard will have to pay a fee of Rs 400 online or through post office challan before the last date i.e. 20 June 2026 based on the confirmation number generated after the application process and get the receipt.

How to Apply for GSSSB Forester Recruitment 2026

To apply for the recruitment of Forester Class-3, candidates can apply on the Ojas portal between 04 June 2026 to 18 June 2026. For which candidates will have to follow the following steps.

• First, go to the Ojas website, go to the online application section and click on the Apply button.
• Then, on the page that opens, select the job you want to apply for and click on the Apply Now button.
• After that, on the page that opens, if you have an OTR number, fill it in or click on the Skip button and proceed.
• After that, there will be a form on the page that opens, in which the candidate’s personal details and educational details should be carefully filled, accept the terms of the guarantee below, select Yes and save the form.
• After that, an application number will be generated which should be saved.
• Then go to the Upload Photograph section from the above menus and enter the application number and date of birth and proceed.
• Then upload your photo and your signature in the prescribed format as per the prescribed size in the form that opens. The uploaded photo will start appearing.
• Please note that your photo must have been taken within the last year and must have the date shown below.
• Then click on Confirm Application from the Online Application Sanctions section in the menu bar, then enter the application number and date of birth in the form that opens and proceed.
• After that, the page that opens will show the details you entered, check which and finally if there is any mistake, edit it and correct it, for which the option of edit will also be available where the option of conform application form is available.
• If there are no errors, check the details and click on the button named Confirm Application given below.
• Then the page that opens will have your application confirmation number which you should save. Also, there will be a button below to print the application, click on it to get a printout of your application.
• After completing the application, go to the fee section in the top menu bar and click on the option of online/post office challan, select online and pay the fee as per your category. And finally, get a printout of the receipt.
